Designer's Choice White Non-roll Elastic (1/2" x 1y)

This is a special type of elastic designed to stay flat and resist twisting or rolling inside casings, even through lots of movement and wear. At 1/2 inch wide, it's suitable for waistbands on children's clothing, light skirts or shorts, and other smaller garments, or for areas like sleeve cuffs where you want to ensure the elastic lays smoothly. Non-roll elastic typically has a ribbed or woven texture that gives it extra rigidity in one direction, so unlike regular braided elastic, it won't easily fold over on itself. This means waistbands made with it remain flat against the body for better comfort and appearance. The white color is versatile, working inside most fabrics (especially light-colored ones) without showing through. This elastic still offers a good stretch and recovery – it will expand to let you pull on the garment and then contract to provide a snug fit – but with the added advantage that the elastic band maintains its width uniformly. With 1 yard in the package, you have enough for at least one waistband or several sleeve or leg openings. It's an excellent choice when constructing garments like pajamas, gym shorts, or skirts where you want a neat, no-fuss waistband that stays in place and feels smooth when worn.
