Emerald Taffeta

This fabric is fabulous!! It is structured enough to make a full gown but drapes enough to be "swooshy". I used it to make a Regency gown costume and the result was lovely. The only down side is that it gets a bit static-y when working with it so keep it away from pet hair haha! Lots of lint rolling ;)

I've Never ordered fabric online in my life. If I can't see, and touch it, I don't buy it, at least not with fabric. I ordered this fabric, because I couldn't find any green taffeta anywhere, and that's what I wanted. After searching online, I ran across Cali Fabrics. I thought, what the heck just try it. After I ordered it, Ron, the owner, sent me an email saying it may be 2 weeks before he would have it and did I want my money back. I said no, I have plenty of time, I will wait. Two days later I had this fabric in my hands. It was absolutely beautiful, and the quality was amazing!!! Not even the stores I went to had taffeta with this quality, not to mention the color I wanted. Thank you so very much Ron!!! I just hope I can do this fabric justice. The fabric arrived very promptly and considering that I live in Melbourne, Australia that was a very fast delivery. The emerald taffeta lived up to expectations in that it has a crisp feel and the colour is exactly as depicted in the online photograph. I buy regularly from this company's warehouse in Mission St on my annual visits to San Francisco and I would certainly purchase fabric from them online now that I have had this positive experience.

I am so pleased with the quality of the taffeta I recently ordered. There was a quick delivery time, also. I certainly recommend Cali Fabrics to anyone looking for something on-line.

I'm working on a Lady Loki costume for Comic Con this year, and I wanted a rich dark green fabric for my dress. I originally was looking for a satin fabric but could not find anything to match the color of green that I wanted. I found this taffeta on here and even though the color was exactly what I wanted, I was hesitant to order it because I've never sewed with taffeta before and I've always read that it's hard to work with. The color was so nice that I just thought, "Screw it. I'll figure out how to sew with this." After receiving the fabric (which arrived in a timely manner as always), I was blown away by how gorgeous this fabric is. The color is vibrant and it feels like quality material. I was worried about fraying (since taffeta is notorious for that), but so far it hasn't been out of control fraying like you get with cheap material. It's also surprisingly a lot easier to sew with than I imagined. I've only been sewing a skirt together with it and haven't moved on to the harder details (installing the lining, applying interfacing to the skirt waistband, making a corset, etc.), but the materials moves surprisingly well through my sewing machine. Not too much slippage for a notoriously slippery material. TL;DR: BEAUTIFUL color, feels like quality material, amazing price, and surprisingly fairly easy to work with.

I recently bought this fabric, after looking all over in vain, to make my prom dress. It is the perfect color and weight, which is no surprise considering the many options Cali Fabrics has available. This was the best price I found after spending hours in local fabric stores and surfing the web. So glad I bought this!
